• OMSDT formed after Rick Trujillo followed Timothy Bryant Jones after he was expelled from OSMTJ (Mangum) for sedition and usurpation. After some months, Trujillo was apparently dissatisfied with Jones and broke off, proclaiming himself the Grand Master of an entirely new organization, OSMDT, without election.
• Rick Trujillo claims to be a Grand Cross of the OSMTJ, however this was granted by Timothy Bryant Jones after he was expelled from OSMTJ (Mangum) by the Grand Master for sedition, and then Jones began calling himself “acting Regent.” In the weeks leading up to Jones’ election of Luis Martinez, Jones rapidly bestowed artificial honors on those few who remained with him, including this Grand Cross for Rick Trujillo, as well as the one for Luis Martinez.
• The name OMSDT is French, but was founded as a modern American group (with International aspirations) with no historical French ties. The name was likely chosen to emulate other orders with French ties and history like the OSMTJ or OSTI.
